Hi, Sonia Lopez-Pelaez Rodil was our guide when we were in Madrid the week of June 20. We met her in the Prado and she took us around for 1.5 hours. She was interesting and very informative. We asked her to guide us through the Reina Sofia museum. Again, she was great.
Estuvimos en Madrid la semana pasada. Somos una fami lia con dos adolescentes de 15 y 17 años. Nuestro plan era hacer turismo por la capital y aunque no con mucho entusiasmo por parte de los chavales, hacer una pequeña visita al museo del Prado. Nada mas entrar Sonia de The Best of Madrid nos ofrecio una visita guiada por lo mas importante del museo. Tengo que decir que fue una visita deliciosa pasa todos, incluidos los chavales que disfrutaron muchísimo de sus explicaciones con las que nos puso en situación en la época de cada pintura y autor y nos mostró multitud de detalles que no hubiéramos apreciado por muestra cuenta. Totalmente recomendable. Muchas gracias por tu entusiasmo!

Bonjour, nous avons fait une visite de 1h30 au musée du Prado hier avec Mme Sonia López-Peláez Rodil. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié sa présentation des œuvres sur le plan artistique; elle les également replacées dans leur contexte historique d’une façon très intéressante. Elle a répondu précisément à plusieurs questions que nous lui posions. Nous la recommandons vivement. HFRobelet.
Ringraziamo la guida Sonia che con professionalità e semplicità, oltre che con passione e competenza, ci ha accompagnati in un percorso al Museo del Prado di Madrid. Non avevamo previsto una guida, ma la stessa Sonia si è proposta all'ingresso del museo. In effetti il museo è talmente ampio che la presenza di una guida che possa orientare il turista durante la visita è consigliabile. Consiglio a chiunque necessitasse di una guida al museo, di contattarla.

Nous avons visité le Musée du Prado le 24 septembre dernier, et nous avons fait la visite en compagnie de Sonia, qui a été parfaite en temps que guide.
Sonia nous a proposé une soirée Flamenco avec repas compris, ce que nous avons acceptée.
Nous tenons à la remercier pour ce choix qui nous a vraiment enchanté.
Nous avons passé une excellente soirée, tant sur le spectacle que sur le repas.

I am one of the Irish ladies who you took on a short tour of Prado on 15 November last. As we explained to you our time was short and we had no idea where to start.
Thank you very much for taking us on a most interesting tour even in an hour we were enthralled with the amount we were able to see and loved all especially Las Meninas. It was excellent. We definitely want to come back and see more. Your enthusiasm for Prado and Madrid was very infectious.

Thank you for your incredibly enjoyable guided tour of the Prado on Friday morning. We were able to focus on some of the key paintings as a result of your energy and expertise. We have been all over the world going to art galleries - New York, St Petersburg, LA and Melbourne for example - but this visit was one of our favourites! It was quite a luxury to have our own guide - knowledgeable, friendly and focused.

I have been wanting to write to you since my visit to the Prado Museum, because I did not want that day to pass without telling you how deeply it stayed with me.
You did far more than guide me through a museum. You opened a door for me. The way you explained the paintings, especially Goya, made me feel that I was not simply looking at art, but standing in front of human pain, history, fear, beauty, and truth all at once. Your words gave life to what was on the walls, and because of you, the Prado became one of the most powerful and unforgettable moments of my journey.
I came to Spain from Australia, but I also came carrying something much older inside me. I am Egyptian, and this journey was not only tourism for me. It was something personal, almost like searching for lost parts of myself through history, memory, and place. I was looking for meaning, for connection, and for something deeper than a normal holiday can give.
Madrid was the beginning of that inner journey, and you were part of that beginning. What you gave me in the Prado stayed with me as I continued on to Seville, Córdoba, Marrakech, Aghmat, and Granada. In every place after Madrid, I kept thinking not only about what I was seeing, but about what it meant to be human: how beauty survives, how loss remains, how civilisations rise and fall, and how memory can still live in stone, water, music, and silence.
Your tour touched me because it met me at exactly the right moment. Sometimes we meet people briefly, yet they leave a mark much larger than they realise. That is how I feel about your guidance in the Prado. It was not just informative. It was moving. It gave emotional depth to my whole journey.
I ended up writing my travel story as a personal reflection, because the trip changed me more than I expected. I translated it into English as well, and I wanted to share it with you, because you are part of that story. I wanted you to know that your work mattered to me in a real and lasting way.
Thank you, truly, for your kindness, your intelligence, your sensitivity, and the passion you brought to your work. You helped me feel something profound, and I will remember that for a long time.
